The large corporation @pepsico produces all potato products at the site in Turkey, such as the well-known chips “Lay’s” or “Doritos”. The resulting potato waste is recycled in a Hochreiter biogas plant and refined into biomethane. The processed biomethane is used 100% in the company’s own factory and thus replaces fossil natural gas. The liquid digestate produced is purified in the company’s own wastewater treatment plant, while the solid digestate is processed into fertilizer.
